So now that the festivities of the month are coming to a close, I can go back and catch everyone up on what has been happening these past few weeks...
Side note: my Dad has been asking me "Have you done a blog recently? When are you going to do a blog?" lol I know its been a while but here it is!!
The break began (which seems oh so long ago now) with a trip to Lafayette and New Orleans with the Salooms to watch the Ragin Cajuns win the New Orleans Bowl! (of course I didn't take my camera so maybe eventually you can see some that Mr. Doug took!) We had a wonderful trip where we got to spend several days in downtown New Orleans and walk around the French Quarter, run a race where we got to finish in the Super Dome, watch a bowl game, spend time with some of Adam's family, and eat beignets!
Here is a picture of some beignets from Cafe Du Monde!
Here is a picture of the Church we went to on Sunday morning in the French Quarter. It is one of the oldest if not the oldest (I can't remember exactly) still practicing churches in the United states and services have been taking place here since 1727!
When I came back to Houston we had a full week of Christmas festivities planned! On one of the first nights we followed one of our Jenkins family traditions and took 2 college girls and 16yr old brother to...see Santa!
The Grahams came with us this year and we followed up Santa with a trip to Cinnabon to get some cinnamon rolls!
Another night we drove down to Moody Gardens in Galveston and walked through the Festival of Lights. It was a mile walkway that was completely decked out in different Christmas lights and each part had a different theme.
On Friday afternoon we drove down to Livingston to see my Dad's side of the family for a Christmas get together, it was so nice getting to see all the family and cousins. We played Secret Santa, and I won a scarf! (I love them, you can not have to many!)

and goofy picture :)
Christmas day was wonderful! We went to the Christmas Eve service the night before and out to eat afterwards with the Grahams at Macaroni Grill.
We woke up early that morning and came down to see the gifts that Santa left for everyone. Afterwards we opened up the presents under the tree, some of a few gifts ...I got a new camera (perfect for blog pictures!) skinny jeans, and some Spode plates (they are a Christmas dinnerware set on the registry!) Afterwards we went to Church and came home to meet up with Aunt Martha and Ronnie who came down for the day!
For New Years we went up and spent the week at the lake house. It was such a nice and relaxing week, we spent the days, catching up on our movies at the theater ($3 matinees in Huntsville woo!), shopping on the square, playing games at night, a game of golf (I was more of a caddie most of the time lol). The Graham family came up on Friday and spent the New Years weekend with us, and Adam came up on Saturday!
The whole group! (minus dad taking the picture)
Oh also we had four dogs up there with us!
Amanda and Brittany
Happy New Years!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year...and is now ready to get back to real life with a wonderful beginning of 2012!
